I like to think of my work as an endless tapestry or an enormous mosaic. Like so many other artists before me, I am a seeker of the mystery of dreams and I've chosen the influential power of painting as a channel to journey into some of those mysteries. Painting allows me to penetrate life's roughness; and find peace in the confines of my studio. As for my subjects and studies, I have never been able to surrender my ties to the primitive. I'm constantly making use of its grace, its sense of ritual seriousness and its solitude. Somehow I find myself working to find some new meaning because of it. As creative beings we must continue to bring hope, some sort of order and the opportunity to find peace and tranquility if only through the visual.

I was born and raised in the East Village of New York City. Primarily self-taught, my early works represent some of the sensibilities of Caribbean, Mexican and Native American figurative and non-figurative studies in pastel. My range of subjects are diverse and I'm continuously experimenting with various styles, techniques and ideas. For several years I've been evolving a body of work representing  what I like to call abstract landscapes in acrylics and oil.  This collection, entitled  "Solitaire" illustrates several layers of vibrant colors, surfaces and textures of single and multiple trees on a horizon.  To view these click on the link below.  Enjoy!
